ANDERSON Dorothy M. (Paul), 79, a longtime resident of Arlington, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Lahey Hospital on April 12, 2016. Born June 1, 1936 in Boston, MA, Dorothy (Dotty) was the eldest daughter of the late Dorothy and John Paul. Raised in Cambridge by her mother and stepfather, Joseph Souza, Dorothy graduated from Cambridge High and Latin School in 1955. She worked for John Hancock until marrying, staying home to raise her five children. Dorothy later returned to work as a Customer Service Representative at Baybank and Citizens Bank. Above all else, Dorothy loved spending time with her family, especially in her role as doting Nana to her six cherished grandchildren. She enjoyed vacationing on the Cape and various hobbies including reading, ceramics, and bowling. Dorothy was the beloved wife of 55 years of the late Anders “Ted” Anderson. Loving mother of Cheryl Anderson of Billerica, Keith and his wife Pamela of Quincy, Kerri Figueroa and her husband Vincent of Groton, Kevin and his wife Kerry of Round Rock, TX, Kristen Butler and her husband John of Weymouth. Cherished Nana of Emily, Sarah and Jake Figueroa, Kailey and Connor Anderson and Cassidy Butler. Loving sister of Eileen Mank of Medford, David Paul of Watertown and the late John Paul and sister by heart of Joan Gibbs of Arlington. Funeral procession from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) SOMERVILLE, Tuesday morning April 19, at 9:00 A.M, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Agnes Church, Arlington at 10:00 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Calling hours Monday April 18, from 4:00 P.M. 7:00 P.M. Interment Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Dorothy's memory to the Joslin Diabetes Center, One Boston Place, Boston, MA 02215.
