CRUZ Edward F., age 84, of West Bridgewater, died July 5, 2013 following a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Mary A. (Hennessey) Cruz. Born and raised in Bridgewater, he was the son of the late Joaquim and Mary (Faria) Cruz. Eddie served in the US Navy and was a resident of West Bridgewater since 1959. Eddie was co-owner of Canducci & Cruz Plumbing in Brockton for 22 years. He was Plumbing Inspector of Bridgewater for 26 years and member of the State Board of Plumbers and Gasfitters for 18 years. Eddie was active in the formation of the West Bridgewater Youth Athletic Association and was also a member of the West Bridgewater Board of Health. He was also a longtime member of Kiwanis Club in Bridgewater. He enjoyed time with his family, playing cribbage, coin collecting and watching sports. Eddie is survived by four children Dr. Edward M. Cruz of York, Maine; Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz and his wife Rose Marie of Marshfield; John F. Cruz of West Bridgewater and Marybeth Tavares and her husband Jay of Fairhaven. He was the grandfather of Megan, Tim, Jr., Kelsey, Michael, Alex, Katie, Abby and Ben and the late Matthew. He was the brother of Esther Salvadore and Dennis J. Cruz both of West Bridgewater and the late Lillian Andrade. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123), BROCKTON, Tuesday 4:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. The Funeral Procession will gather at the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 9:00 A.M. for a Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church West Bridgewater at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
