DeSANTIS Edward J. of Braintree died Sunday, July 14, 2013 at the age of 87. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 63 years, Lucille (Del Tufo) DeSantis, his son, Robert Edward DeSantis, and his wife, Cheryl Keese DeSantis; his grandson, Robert Edward DeSantis, II; his great-grandson, Robert Edward DeSantis, III; his great-grandson's Mom; GraceAnne Sullivan, and his sister, Jean Proia. Son of the late Luigi and Bessi (Izzo) DeSantis. Brother of the late Albert DeSantis, Virginia Proia, Dorothy McCullough, Viola Lucas, Anna Leger, and Alice Battista. Eddie retired after 40+ years with the Metropolitan District Commission (MDC) as Deputy Director of the South Region. A Private Pilot, he enjoyed flying out of Norwood Airport with his friends, He was also an avid gardener and his ability to produce amazing tomatoes will be sorely missed, but he loved his family the most, and would do anything for any of them, and for this he will always be in our hearts. Veteran of WWII, US Army. Visiting hours in the Andrew J. Magni & Son Funeral Home, 365 Watertown Street, Rt. 16, NEWTON, Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. 8:00 P.M. and again on Thursday morning at 9:30 A.M., before proceeding to Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 573 Washington Street, Newton for a Funeral Mass at 10:30AM. Burial Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
