JONES Elaine L. (Goodwin), 91, of Las Vegas NV, formerly of Stoneham, MA passed away on July 6, 2015. She was born in Nova Scotia, Canada on May 5, 1924 to Lee and Grace Goodwin and was the loving wife of the late Herbert M. Jones. Elaine was educated in the Everett Public Schools. She worked as a secretary for various businesses and at Our Lady of Nazareth Academy in Wakefield. She enjoyed being a homemaker and mother. Elaine’s interests included interior decorating, scrapbooking and sewing. She was an author and free lance writer as well as a music lover. She was known for her friendly, vivacious personality and for being a good friend, neighbor and loving mother and grandmother. Elaine and Herb were devoted best friends during their sixty-eight years of marriage. In the early years they enjoyed spending time at Elaine’s parent’s summer home in Penacook, NH, square dancing and attending their son’s sports events. Upon retirement they moved from Stoneham to Las Vegas and traveled frequently including many trips back to Massachusetts for family celebrations. She is survived by Herb’s brother, Albert Jones and his wife Marjorie of Fairhaven; son Stephen D. Jones (deceased 9/29/2016) and his wife Dorothy of Chelmsford, son Philip S. Jones and his wife Nina of Andover; grandchildren, Kimberly Berthiaume and husband Scott, Michelle Buckland and husband James, Matthew Jones and wife Lauren Moye and Jeffery Jones; great grandchildren, Mason Berthiaume, Devin Berthiaume, Noah Buckland and Olivia Jones; nieces, Leslie Maguire and Linda McCaffrey; nephews, Alan Jones, Richard Jones and Douglas Jones; and several great nieces and nephews. Elaine and Herb’s family would like to thank the staff at Wentworth of Las Vegas Assisted Living Facility for their kind and loving care. Arrangements: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a Memorial Service to be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 1:00pm at The First Congregational Church in Stoneham, 1 Church Street, Stoneham, MA.
