GUERTIN Emily deForest Guertin, 92, died Saturday at the home of her daughter. Born in Winsted, CT. Graduated Milton High School in Milton, MA. Enlisted in the US Navy and served our country during World War II in the W.A.V.E.S. as a Pharmacist Mate Third Class. She worked as a Supervisor at John Hancock Insurance Company in Boston, MA. Married Frank B. Guertin July 9, 1949 and made their home in Stoughton, MA where they raised their two children. Emily volunteered as a Girl Scout Troop Leader. She was a member of the Stoughton Historical Society, the Easton Garden Club, the Audubon Society of Mass and Weathersfield Historical Society in Vermont. She was predeceased by her husband, who died August 25, 2003. She is survived by her son William D. Guertin of Stoughton, MA, her daughter deForest Bearse of Ascutney, VT, five grandchildren and a great grandson. A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, October 17, at 2:00 P.M. in the Ascutneyville Cemetery in Ascutney, VT.
