HASSEY Gerald T. Hassey, 65, of Mashpee, died June 8, 2014 He was the husband of Jane Anne (Russell) Hassey to whom he was married 44 years. Mr. Hassey grew up in Dedham and served in the U.S. Army from 1968-1980. After his military service, he settled in Mashpee. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Namvets and the Monument Beach Sportsman Club. He was a proud supporter of the National Rifle Association. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Gerald T. Hassey, Jr., Richard Hassey, and Heather Donohoe and her husband Lawrence, all of Mashpee; his grandchildren, Kayla Hassey of Fayetteville, NC, Tiffany Hassey, and Trever Donohoe, both of Mashpee; his sister Anne Gabrielli of Bridgewater; his brother Warren Hassey of Bournedale; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Chester and Elizabeth (Bryan) Hassey, his sister Patricia Tradd, and his brother Richard Hassey. Visiting hours will be from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 74 Algonquin Avenue (at Route 151) MASHPEE. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, June 16th at Christ the King Church, Job’s Fishing Road, Mashpee, followed by burial at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
