CONLEY James Louis Conley, DDS, of Braintree, 77 years of age, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Monday, July 6, 2015. He was born in Melrose and raised in Medford and graduated from Malden Catholic High School in 1955. He was a member of the hockey team that was enshrined in the Malden Catholic Hall of Fame. He enlisted in the Marines in 1955 where he received a good conduct medal and the marksmanship medal. At the time of his discharge in 1959; he had attained the rank of Sergeant. After his honorable discharge, he graduated from Boston College in 1963. He then attended Georgetown University where he graduated with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery in 1968. He worked as a dentist in Central Square, Cambridge, in various offices in the South Shore, and finished his career at the Naval War College in Newport RI. He enjoyed vacationing at Lake Winnipesaukee in N.H. He also very much enjoyed reading and horse racing. He is survived by his loving wife Cathleen M. (Carney) Conley. He was the devoted father to Christopher J. Conley married to Gabrielle of Ridgefield, CT; Gregory A. Conley of Belmont, James L. Conley, Jr married to Jeanne of Milton, Christina Marie Conley of Braintree, Alex David Conley married to Robin of Randolph, Tara C. Conley-Wilson married to Tom Bernard Wilson of Rockland. He was the father of the late Cynthia Catherine Wiatrowski who was married to Mark Wiatrowski of Winchester. He was the brother of Claire Eyrich of Reading, PA and the brother of Joseph Conley of Abington. He is also survived by 14 loving grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, BRAINTREE on Thursday, July 9th from 4:00-8:00pm. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Friday, July 10th at 10:00am to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Parish 44 School Street, Quincy at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Braintree Cemetery. Memorial donations may be sent to Hospice of the South Shore, 30 Reservoir Park Drive, Rockland, MA 02370.
