DiGRAVIO James P. “Chip” DiGravio Jr., 68, a former resident of Hanover and Weymouth, died Wednesday, September 26, 2012. The son of the late James P. and Dorothy (Gaughan) DiGravio Sr., he was born in Weymouth on October 8, 1943. Chip served in the Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis aboard the USS Wasp and was named a Sailor of the Month. He was later employed as a Sheet Metal Worker and was a 50 year Member of Local 17. He also served as Commander of the Hanover American Legion Post #149. He is survived by two sons, Glen J. DiGravio and Darren S. DiGravio, both of Hanover. Brother of Marilou Piacentini-Maddalena, Valerie Lofgren and Nancy Smith, all of Weymouth, and Terry Smith of Niantic, CT. Also survived by five grandchildren, his former wife Janice (McKee) DiGravio of Hanover, and his companion Marsha Rouleau of Lake View, NY. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00 A.M. in St. Albert the Great Church, 1130 Washington St. in Weymouth. A reception will follow at the Sons of Italy, 54 Whitman Street in East Weymouth. Visiting hours omitted. Arrangements by the Sullivan Funeral Home in HANOVER.
