Holyoke College and received advanced degrees at the University of Rochester and Johns Hopkins University. A long-time resident of Weston, MA, most of her adult life was spent in teaching and medical research at the universities of Johns Hopkins, Harvard and Brown. She retired at Brown holding the prestigious Esther E. Brintzenhoff Professor of Medical Science chair. Jean was passionate about animals. Not only did she care fiercely for her beloved cats, she was a staunch advocate for all animals, appreciating their natural beauty and companionship. Jean also loved nature and was a devoted advocate and supporter of the conservation movement. Jean enjoyed the fun of cheering on the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots when she was not reading about and following the business world. At her request she will be buried in the Marshall family plot in Norland Cemetery in Chambersburg, PA. Jean leaves no immediate survivors but many dear friends. Arrangements entrusted to the care of the John C. Bryant Funeral Home of WAYLAND.
