MOOR Joan Rothwell 91, of Delray Beach, passed away on November 13, 2012. She was born in Lynn, MA to Paul and Adeline Rothwell. Ms. Moor was a graduate of Vassar College and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She was a member of the society of the Sigma Xi (MIT Chapter). Throughout her career she was an instructor in chemistry at Vassar College, a biochemist at Children's Hospital, Boston, MA and Harvard Medical School and worked in the Division of Sponsored Research, MIT. In 1950, she married Edgar J. Moor. They traveled all over the world, visiting over 100 countries. Joan was an excellent chef and entertained ambassadors and presidents. She is survived by 5 nieces and nephews, Bernard (Jane) Rothwell III, Brian (Marie) Rothwell, Bonnie (Brian) Walsh, Brenda (William) Prescott, Barbara (Steven) Hagan, 16 grandnieces and grandnephews and 2 great grandnieces and 1 great grandnephew. She was predeceased by her husband Edgar in 1994. Friends may gather on Friday, November 16, 2012 from 10:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. with an 11:00 A.M. memorial service at Lorne & Sons Funeral Home, 745 NE 6th Avenue. (North Federal Hwy) Delray Beach.
