WELCH John A. Welch, Sr., 92 of Charlestown, passed away on Thursday in Boston. He was born in Boston and served with the U.S. Navy during WWII. John was employed as a master plumber throughout the Boston area prior to his retirement. The husband of the late Doris M. (Varella) Welch, John’s family members include his daughters Donna Carr of Salem NH, Arlene Quinn of Somerville, Cheryl Ryan of Nashua NH, Karen Menard of Salem MA, and Lynne Galatis of Somerville; His sons John Welch, Jr. of Somerville, William Welch of Somerville, and James Welch of Somerville, 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 10:00am in St. Joseph Church, 40 Main Street, Salem, NH. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Salem NH.
