MITCHELL John Francis (Poppa), of Tewksbury, formerly Readville, September 10, 2015, age 88, a WW2 Navy Aviation Radioman, retired letter-carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Harvard Square, and cart barn manager at Winchester C.C. Beloved husband for 64 years of Gertrude T. (Girvan) Mitchell. Son of the late John P. and Leoda (Morin) Mitchell. Loving father of Kathleen Mitchell of Hudson, NH, Joanne Mitchell of Charlotte, NC, Karen Lessard and her husband Michael of Dunbarton, NH, and Maureen Klangos and her husband Charles of Lowell; brother of Marjorie Murphy of Hyde Park, William J. Mitchell of Pembroke, the late Thomas F. Mitchell and Francis M. Mitchell; devoted grandfather of Kerry Kimball and her husband Brett, Tabitha Torre and her husband Larry, John and Michelle Dufour, and David Dufour and his finance Jessica, Nicole Coulombe and her husband Mike, Brandon Lessard and his girlfriend Lee Ann, Cameron Lessard, Aimee Sullivan and her husband Ryan, Corrie Stronach, Charleen and Christopher Klangos; adored great grandfather of Claire, Jacob, Taylor, Jayden, Mya, John, Wyatt, Sadie, Mackenzie, Julia, and Ava; uncle of many. A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, September 17, at 10:30 A.M. at The Oblate Fathers Novitiate Chapel, 486 Chandler Street, Tewksbury, with relatives and friends respectfully invited.
