McDONAGH Julia B. (Walsh), of Braintree, 82 years of age Entered Life Eternal at her home on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 after a long illness. Julia was born in Parishtown, Oughterard, County Galway, Ireland. She settled in Boston in 1948. She met her late husband Matthew McDonagh in Boston and was married in 1953. They were married for 58 years at the time of his death in December of 2011. They moved to Braintree in 1969. Julia was a cafeteria worker for the Braintree Public Schools retiring in 1994. She had been an active Communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Braintree. She had attended weekly Prayer Meetings at the Church of St. Thomas More in Braintree for many years. Julia enjoyed spending time with her family and her circle of friends. She is survived by her four devoted children Thomas Anthony McDonagh of Braintree, Maryellen McGoldrick and her husband Jim of Marshfield, Matthew McDonagh of Braintree and Julie Liston and her husband David of Connecticut. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. She is the loving sister of Mary McNulty of Boston, Patrick Walsh of Medway, Rose Griffith of Ireland and Eileen Clancy of England. She was the sister of the late Bridie Casey of England, Liam Walsh of England, Barney Walsh of Milton and Margaret Walsh of England. There will be a gathering at the Mortimer N. Peck - Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, BRAINTREE on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 9:30 A.M. to be followed by a Funeral Mass at the St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 856 Washington Street, Braintree at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury. Visiting hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday, October 5 from 4:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Julia’s memory may be sent to the charity of the donor’s choice.
