DU BOIS Malvina P. (Warsaskas) of Weston, a warm and loving wife, mother, aunt and grandmother, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the age of 89. Married for 62 years to Robert P. Du Bois, of Weston, she is further survived by a son, Robert B., of Superior, WI, a niece, Mary Alexander, of Chicago, IL, three granddaughters and a grandniece. Born and raised in South Boston, she graduated from Boston schools, receiving honors in spelling bees, and was active in social Lithuanian activities. She worked as a sales person in Boston Department Stores, and was then accepted for employment as a defense worker at the Boston Naval Shipyard where she remained until the end of hostilities. Upon her retirement she received the Navy ‘E’ for excellence award. She was then employed for several years at the Gillette Corporation headquarters in South Boston, in a secretarial and survey capacity. She has always been appreciative of classical and popular music, for many years had been an avid gardener with a talent for the right plants and shrubs harmonizing well. She enjoyed reading mystery stories by well-known authors as a favorite pastime. For many years she was active as a volunteer worker for St. Julia Parish, in Weston, and received kind words of appreciation for dedication to this activity. Funeral services were private. Interment will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations in Malvina’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Henry J.
