SHEAHAN Marie B., of Quincy, age 96, a lifelong Quincy resident, died peacefully, Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at the Marina Bay Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Quincy. Marie was born in Quincy on October 14, 1919 to the late Marie A. (Magee) and George M. Sheahan, M.D. She was raised and educated in Quincy and was a graduate of Boston University. Marie was a retired school teacher having worked for the Abington and Quincy Public School Departments. Following her retirement, she continued as a substitute teacher in Quincy for many years. She was a member of the Quincy Retired Teachers Association. As a young woman, after World War II, Marie worked with the U.S. Army teaching American dependents in Europe. Marie was an active supporter and former board member of the Quincy Historical Society for many years. She was the last of four siblings and was pre-deceased by Joan S. Schwab, George M. Sheahan, Jr. and Joseph M. Sheahan. She was niece of the late Henry Beston and is survived by many cousins.
