RAGUSA Michael J. "Mikey", of South Boston, June 24, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Mabelle (Rivers) Ragusa. Devoted father of Diana Erickson, her husband Philip of Idaho, Alice Jane Collyer, her husband Bill of Maine, John MacCormack, his wife Ruth, Eddie MacCormack and his wife Joan all of North Carolina. Loving son of the late Joseph and Margaret (DiCicco) Ragusa. Dear brother of the late Anthony, baby Dominick, John, Domenic, Mary, Anna, Angela "Angie", Caroline "Carrie", Ernest, Rose,Florence and Joseph Jr. "Joey" Ragusa. Special grandfather of Tammy Collyer of Winthrop. Also survived by many other loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Michael was a hard working humble man. As a teen he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps, later working in construction. He was a loyal patriot and enlisted in the Merchant Marines during World War II. In 1985, the Russian Government presented Michael with the Jubilee Medal for his brave participation in the Murmansk Run. He was always ready and willing to help whatever the need. He was a good man, devoted to family, church, country and community. He will be greatly missed. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in the Marian Manor Nursing Home Chapel, 130 Dorchester Street, South Boston, MA 02127, on Friday at 10:00 A.M. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. in the chapel foyer (please use the Old Harbor Street entrance.) Relatives and friends invited. In lieu of flowers donations may be in "Mikey's" memory to the Marian Manor Nursing Home (address above) or to a VFW Post of your choice.
