VAN GEMERT Myrtle Marie, 88, passed away peacefully at her Virginia home Sunday April 21, 2013, attended to by her loving daughter Karen Johnson. Myrtle was a former resident of Mansfield, MA. Myrtle was born in Snoqualmie Falls, Washington on February 19, 1925. She had four children, plus raised an additional four children from her late husband's previous marriage. She followed her husband Leonard around for 21 years as a Navy wife and worked for Amtrak before retiring in the 1980's. She was a active member of the Order of Eastern Stars in Florida as well as a member of German American Club. Preceded in death by her husband Leonard Marinus Van Gemert III, daughter Patricia and sons Leonard IV, Douglas and James. Myrtle is survived by three daughters, Veronica Nye of WA, Grace Duran of MA, Karen Johnson of VA and son Peter Van Gemert of FL, plus 17 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. Services will be held in Mansfield MA at St. John's Episcopal Church on Saturday June 29, 2013 at 2:00 P.M.
