LANE Patricia A. of Osterville, MA passed away on March 19, 2015. Born in Boston on December 9, 1934, she was raised on Cape Cod where she attended Dennis-Yarmouth High School (Class of 1952). Pat was a member of the first women’s class at the Boston College School of Education (1956). She married Henry T. Lane, Jr. of Newton on August 20, 1958. They lived in Sherborn, MA for many years where they raised their two children, Mark and Jennifer. In retirement, Pat and Henry moved to Osterville, MA and were winter residents of Vero Beach, FL. Pat loved teaching. She started her career in education at the Bay Street School in Osterville, MA as a first grade teacher. In later years, she was a teacher in the Dedham and Maynard Public Schools. She obtained her Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Framingham State College. For many years, Pat was the owner/operator of the Happy Hill Nursery School in Sherborn. Pat was an avid tennis player and was always up for a match. She also enjoyed cooking, crafts, dancing, entertaining, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren, Lillian and Graham. Pat was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish in Osterville and Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach. She is survived by her husband Henry, son Mark, and his wife Susan of West Barnstable, MA, daughter Jennifer Lane of Vero Beach, FL, brother Henry Burns and his wife Mary Jo of Olympia, WA, sister-in-law Mary Lane of Falmouth, MA and, grandchildren Lillian and Graham of West Barnstable, MA. Visiting hours are Wednesday 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. and Thursday 9:00 A.M. - 10:15 A.M. at the John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Road, Marstons Mills, MA. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Osterville. Burial will follow in Mosswood Cemetery, Cotuit. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to either, the Henry T.
