EDSON Richard B. Edson, of Forestdale (formerly of Weymouth), passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 9, 2015, with his family at his side. Richard was a graduate of Weymouth High School and Northeastern University. He was a member of the Monday Night Bowling League, the Riders Motorcycle Club and the New England Amateur Radio Association. He was an avid reader and music collector. He preferred radio to television and computers. He was politically active and opinionated including authoring numerous "Letters to Editors" over his lifetime. He enjoyed swimming, bike riding, golf, playing cards and chess. He was a loving brother, uncle, cousin and friend who will be dearly missed by all who loved him. Richard is survived by his sisters Judith Kimball and her husband Thomas, Lorraine Ernst and her husband Stephen. He is also survived his nephew Michael Marmentini, nieces Carla Cosgrove, Kelly Kimball, and Karen Hines, and many great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends. A visitation will be held at the Chapman Cole and Gleason Funeral Home, 74 Algonquin Avenue (Rte 151), MASHPEE on Monday January 12, 2015 from 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at the Chapman Cole and Gleason Funeral Home Tuesday January 13, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Sandwich Town Cemetery.
