PAELEMAN Robert C., a resident of Medford since 1953 and beloved husband of the late Henny M. (Pilaeten) Paeleman, passed away at the Woburn Nursing Center in Woburn on Sunday morning, February 28, 2016. He was 92 years old. Born in Geraardsbergen, Belgium, on January 16, 1924, he was the beloved son of the late Gustaaf and Elvida (Mortier) Paeleman. Robert was employed for more than 18 years by Polaroid as a Model Maker. In his spare time, Mr. Paeleman loved to play his Saxophone and Clarinet. He loved jazz esp Dixieland. He greatly loved his Celtics and was a season ticket holder for many years. Lastly his tomatoes and vegetables were his pride and he grew beautiful flowers for his bride. For many years he cut his roses and lilacs to give to his girls. He continued to bring a bouquet to his wife even after she passed away. Robert will be dearly missed by his sister-in-law Sussan Swanson of Medford and was predeceased by his sister-in-law Eliane De Clercq and her husband Marcel. He will also be missed by his loving nieces and nephews; Robert and his wife Jo Ann De Clercq of Pembroke, Henny Walters of Duxbury, Richard and his wife Susan Swanson of Burlington, Judy De Clercq of Hanson, Anmarie McGonagle and her husband Larry of Nashua, NH and Jeannine Holden of Medford, Lucienne and her husband Romain Collyns-De Pryck of Geraardsbergen, thirteen grand-nieces and grand-nephews and sixteen great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. He was also the brother of the late Jeanne Leurs, Jules Paeleman and Germaine De Pryck. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, Pleasant Street, Malden on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at 10:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, MEDFORD on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Interment will be held in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Donations in Robert's memory may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 1 Bulfinch Pl #201, Boston, MA 02114.
