GURRISI Robert Edward, age 45, of Merrimac, passed away at his home early Friday morning, March 18, 2016 surrounded by his loving family after battling a long illness. Born in Winchester, July 7, 1970, he was one of nine children of William C. and Jean M. (Connor) Gurrisi. In addition to his wife of 23 years, Jill M. (Carroll) Gurrisi, he is survived by his daughters, Kelly and Samantha, his parents, his loving in-laws, Charles Carroll and wife Arlene, and his siblings, Laurie Sirois, William C. Gurrisi II, Linda Vining, Christine Keough, Peter Gurrisi, Paul Gurrisi, Amanda Carlson and Michael Gurrisi, as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, all of whom held a very special place in his heart. Robert was a graduate of Northeast Regional Vocational in Wakefield. With his father and brother, Peter, Robert was the co-owner of W C Gurrisi and Sons truck repair, trucking and towing company. He is probably the only person who would get excited about a snowstorm because he would get to plow the roads all night. Debating politics with his family and friends may have been his favorite hobby. He always did his research and made sure everyone heard him no matter how loud he needed to be. However, his favorite memories were always with his wife and children driving around the United States in the RV with his wife navigating in the passenger seat and the kids sleeping in the back or just sitting around the living room watching television until they all fell asleep in his arms. Some of his last memories were on cruises to Bermuda and Alaska, which was a dream of his to see. Family meant the most to him, and he meant the most to his family. He will be missed by many. Visiting hours will be at the Highland Chapel of Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, AMESBURY, on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 from 4 to 8 P.M.
