PIERCE Robert G. passed away at the Haverhill Crossings in Haverhill, MA on May 6, 2012 at 90 years of age. Beloved husband of the late Rose C. (Massarelli) Pierce. Brother of the late John Pierce, Andrew Pierce, Jane Pierce. Dear uncle of Andrew J. Pierce of Atkinson, New Hampshire. Funeral services will be conducted in the William R. Carafa & Son Home For Funerals, 389 Washington Avenue, CHELSEA on Thursday May 10 at 12:00 Noon. Visiting hours will precede the service from 10:00 A.M. 12:00 P.M. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Late U.S. Army veteran. Robert was a bombardier in the Army Air Force, having served in the most severe combat missions in the European theatre of war. During World War II he received many commendations, including the Silver Star, Army Air Medal and the Purple Heart. Retired mechanical engineer for the Hood Rubber Co., retiring thirty-five years ago. Late member of the Army Bomber Squadron Group #44.
