JOHNSON Roy K. Johnson, long-time Quincy resident, died September 10, 2014 at Mass General Hospital, Boston. He was 76. Born and raised in Quincy, he was a son of the late Augustus & Anna (Hermanson) Johnson and served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps, Reserves. For many years he was employed as a Machinist with Boston Gear Works, and following retirement worked part time with the Quirk auto group. He was a member of the Quincy Police Chiefs Association. Long active in Quincy politics and the Republican party, Roy will be remembered as a good and caring friend and neighbor who enjoyed hunting and fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family. He was the loving father of Sherry Johnson DeHay of Weymouth and cherished grandfather of Michael DeHay & Kristen Durette, and Aleah DeHay. Great Grandfather of Rosemary and Roy DeHay. Dear uncle of Donald Johnson and his wife Ginny, Robert Johnson and his wife Robin and Carol Johnson-Chafe and her husband Babe. He was the brother of the late Walter, Lawrence and Harold Johnson. Also survived by his former wife Sue Johnson Earley, sister-in-law Midge Johnson, and many close friends. His funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited, will be held Saturday, September 13th at 10:00 A.M. at the Hamel, Wickens & Troupe Funeral Home, 26 Adams St., QUINCY CENTER. Interment will be private. Visiting Hours Friday from 4:008:00pm.
