SMITH Sally A. (Harber) of West Newton on December 23, 2015. Sally was the beloved wife for 57 of the late Stephen S. Smith Jr. and the loving mother of Michael T. Smith of Newton, Kelly Byrne of Newton, Sandra Calabro of Newton, Maura Smith of Waltham, and Colleen Smith of Newton. Dear “Gram” to 13 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late William G. III, John, David, Ralph and Gloria Harber, and Janice Harber Conley and is survived by many nieces and nephews. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday December 29 at 10:00 A.M. in Corpus Christi/St. Bernard’s Church, Washington Street, West Newton followed by prayers at St. Joseph’s Cemetery West Roxbury. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours will be Monday from 4:00 P.M. 8:00 P.M. in the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home, 465 Centre Street, NEWTON CORNER. In lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of Sally to the John M. Barry Boys and Girls Club of Newton, 675 Watertown Street, Newton, MA 02460 would be appreciated. Sally was a longtime employee of the Newton Election Commission, and was an avid fan of her children’s and grandchildren’s sports.
