PERNICE Susan Mary “Supernice” Pernice, 54, passed away suddenly on January 2, 2015 in Westminster, MD due to respiratory complications. Daughter of Mary V. and Robert F. Pernice, Sr. Loving wife of James Damiano; Dear sister of Judith Pernice, Robert F. Pernice, Jr., Deborah Pernice Duffy, Joseph Pernice, and Kara Pernice, and spouses; Her in-laws Dorothy Damiano; Frank Damiano, Philip Damiano, Edward Damiano, and Martha McNeece, and their spouses; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and dog Mulligan. Graduated St. Joseph’s School, Holbrook; Archbishop Williams, Braintree; and Emmanuel College, Boston. Survived a 1995 diagnosis of stage-3 breast cancer, became a champion for the breast cancer cause, and was awarded the Silver Cameo Award (Susan Komen Foundation’s highest recognition for a volunteer.) For 10+ years served on the Jimmy Fund Council, and volunteered for many years for other organizations including the Boston and NYC Marathons. Employed at Wang, Lotus, and most recently Nielsen Norman Group. Su was kind and generous, donating all of her organs so others may live on. Embraced the spirit of one of her favorite quotes: “It’s nice to be important but it’s important to be nice.” Mass on Saturday, January 17 at 10:30 A.M., St. Joseph’s Church, 153 South Franklin St., Holbrook, MA 02343. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Jimmy Fund or North Shore Animal League.
