SPRAGUE Walter L. “Buddy” Sprague, 82, a resident of Wrentham for 38 years, formerly of Natick and Foxboro, passed peacefully on June 25, 2014 in Harrington House, Walpole. He was the beloved, devoted husband of the late Nora (Molloy) Sprague and brother of the late Isabel Eastman. Born in Boston on April 19, 1932, he was a son of the late Albert and Josephine (Morrison) Sprague. Walter was educated in Boston schools. He served his country proudly as a member of the US Navy from 1950-54 during the Korean Conflict aboard the USS Peregrine, USS Harry F. Bauer, and the USS Doyle. Walter worked as a truck driver for Kraft Foods in his earlier years, and later for Star Market for over 30 years prior to retirement. He was a member of Local 25 Boston Teamsters, and a longtime communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Wrentham. Walter will be forever loved and remembered by his step children; William (Karen) Petrie of Edmond, OK, Kathleen (Gene) Petrie-Keady of Manhattan, NY, Kevin T. Petrie of Plainville, Pauline (Bob) Bellavance of Mansfield, and Coleen Bellavance of Norton; a nephew; Brian (Sarah Bohn) Eastman of Foxboro; eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren, and his dearest friends Joel (Cindy) Hathaway of Halifax, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Monday, June 30, 2014 from 4:30 P.M to 7:30 PM in the R.J. Ross Funeral Home, 135 South Street, Route 1A, WRENTHAM CENTER. His funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 9:00 A.M in St. Mary’s Church, 130 South Street, Route 1A, Wrentham Center. Burial will follow in Wrentham Center Cemetery.
