MILLER William J. III, 55, of South Boston, after a courageous battle with cancer, September 20, 2013, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Beloved husband of Sheila M. (O'Connell) Miller. Devoted father of Billy, Ryan and Jesse Miller. Loving son of William and Lois (Kennedy) Miller. Loving brother of Brian Miller, his wife Lori, Mary Skerry, her husband Marc, Patty McDonnell, her husband Jim, Carol O'Connell, her husband Jerry, Janice Maddox, her husband John "Bubba", Joanne Pages and her husband John all of South Boston. Son in law of the late Jesse and Marie O'Connell. Dear brother in law of Jim O'Connell, his wife Deb of Brant Rock, Maureen Connolly, Linda Lynch, her late husband Moss, Sean O'Connell, his wife Patty, Patty O'Loughlin, her husband Fran, Erin O'Connell, and the late Marie and Arnie Bailey. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and dear friends. Visiting hours in the O'Brien Funeral Home, 146 Dorchester Street, SOUTH BOSTON, Monday from 4:00 P.M. 8:00 P.M. Funeral Mass in St. Brigid Church on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Interment will be private. "Billy" was a dedicated family man, a well loved coach, long time employee at Verizon and a late member of the South Boston Yacht Club. He enjoyed life to the fullest and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Miller Children Fund at Mt. Washington Bank, 708 East Broadway, South Boston, MA 02127.
