SHANNON ARTHUR “MICHAEL” Of Millis, passed away Saturday morning, September 15, 2012, at his home after a lengthy illness. He was 64. Born in Framingham to the late Arthur F. and Mary (Farricy) Shannon. He was raised and educated in Millis where he had been a lifelong resident. Mr. Shannon was a retired equipment operator in the construction trades. A proud Vietnam Veteran, Mr. Shannon served as a Technician 5 Grade with the Army receiving the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, an “L” Overseas Bar and the National Defense Service Medal. He was a member of the AMVETs Post 495 and the National D.A.V. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Shannon is survived by his wife of 39 years Patricia “Pat” A. (McLaughlin) Shannon, his brother, Jim Shannon and his wife, Sandy of FL, his mother in law, Rita M. Bagdasarian of Millis and his brother in law, Donald Pettis of Millis. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters in law, and his many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews and extended family. He was the brother of the late Joanna Pettis. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in Celebration of Michael’s Life at Saint Thomas the Apostle Church, 82 Exchange Street, Millis, Friday at 10 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Millis.
