Nov. 4, 1993 - April 17, 2013
Cody was born and raised in Bozeman. He spent his entire educational years in the Bozeman school system and graduated from Bozeman High School in 2012 after receiving a Worthy Student Scholarship Award. When Cody was 17 he made the decision to enroll (early) into the Marine Corp.
Cody had a zest for life. His hobbies included much of what Montana had to offer in outdoor life. Biking, skiing, hiking, photography, writing, reading and most of all, he loved music. He particularly loved spending time with his friends and family. His witty charm and charismatic smile left people happy. He always had an open ear for friends in need and enjoyed sarcasm and a great joke.
Joining the United States Marine Corp gave Cody a new sense of belonging, strength, integrity, and honor. He spoke often of becoming a man. Becoming a Marine. He spoke of the brotherhoods he had developed with his new family. Prior to Cody's death he graduated from his MOS training as a Marine Air Ground Task Force Intelligence Specialist and was promoted to Private First Class.
He is survived by his parents, Angela Hubenthal DeKay and Jerry Crans; brother, Austin Weber; sister, Lacee Crook; grandparents, Gary Hubenthal, Jane Culler, Jim and Louise Crans; aunts, Brandy Hubenthal (Whitney Kershner) and Pam Hendrichs; uncles, Robert Carl, Chuck Carl (Anne Carl), and Larry Carl (Lisa Johnson) and many more cousins, family and friends.
Also survived by biological father, Dan Breeton; grandma, Chris Breeton; great-grandparents, Earl and Irene Locke; uncles, Brian Breeton and Scott Breeton (Charity Breeton).
