Franklin John Lutz

Franklin John Lutz was born June 27, 1927, in Carrington, N.D., to John and Theresa Lutz, one of four children. He passed away suddenly at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital in Bozeman.

Frank was educated in Carrington, N.D., and graduated from high school in 1946. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1946 and was honorably discharged in 1948. He was united in marriage on Oct. 31, 1948, to Mavis A. Miller of Melville, N.D. They moved to Mohall, N.D., where he worked in the furniture business. They had two boys, Timothy R. and Tracy L. and in 1957, they moved to Underwood, N.D., where Frank took a job for Great Plains lumber yard. In 1960, they moved to Williston, N.D., where he managed the lumber yard until 1974. Then he took the position as a manufacturer representative in the furniture industry. In 1978, he and Mavis moved to Bozeman, where he retired.

Frank's hobbies were collecting coins, metal detecting and antiques.

He is survived by his wife, Mavis, of 65 years; his son, Tracy L. (Lori); grandchildren, Dana, Kyle (Kamie) and Kelly (Kody); granddaughter, Stacy (Darren) Johnston; and five great-grandchildren, Chance (Mandy), Teagan, Kianna, Eli and Dawson.

Preceding Frank in death are his parents, brother, two sisters and son, Timothy R. Lutz.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
