Ardena Marion Saisbury passed away Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013 at the family home north of Belgrade. Ardena was born Dec. 4, 1947 in Siren, Wis. to Alice (Rasmussen) and Marlow Roy. The family moved to Montana living in Jardine and attending school in Gardiner and later in Bozeman. After graduation she worked in Minnesota for a couple of years. Ardena returned to Montana and later married Louis (Buddy) Satre. Ardena and Buddy had two children, Shari and Roy. She and Buddy divorced and Ardena later married Thomas Saisbury, they would have celebrated their 25th anniversary in December. Although Ardena and Tom had no children together, they enjoyed a rich, love-filled life with family and friends.

In addition to providing a loving home-life for her family, she was employed in numerous positions in the Gallatin Valley for most of her adult years. She was a contract employee sewing for Quake Industries at the time of her death.

Ardena loved creating a beautiful life for her family and friends. She loved the family pets; pot-bellied pigs and Boston Terriers. She was a gracious hostess, delighting in cooking and serving her guests. She was always up to trying a new craft or project. Never wishing to be idle, she spent endless hours knitting, crocheting or sewing fashion and home decorations for her friends and families. She had a love for nature, especially making her surroundings beautiful. In the summer Ardena spent hours taking care of the yard, sometimes mowing two or three times a week so it was "perfect". After the garden supplies were put away, Ardena would begin her fall and winter decorating both inside and outside of her home. A whole new magic was created as she unwrapped her present to the community and her family with her spectacular Christmas decorating.

She is survived by her husband, Tom; and her daughter, Shari Satre (Dave Hutchins), Jarys, Bodhi, and Jaden of Ennis; her son, Roy Satre (Melissa Flikkema), Belgrade; her sisters Charlow (Tim) Downs of Champlin, Minn., Debra (Duane) Durham, Bozeman, Jennifer (William) Olsen, Sahaurita, Ariz. and Gretchen Carrels, Townsend and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Ardena was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Tony Carrels.

For those of us left in this earthly place, we'll miss you greatly until we see you again in your heavenly home.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Nov. 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service. Funeral Services will be held Friday, Nov. 8 at 2 p.m. at Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel.

As a breast cancer survivor Ardena would like memorials in her name be made to cancer centers or for providing mammograms for women who cannot afford them.

Arrangements are in the care of Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service.
