William "Bill" Wix, 78, husband, father, grandfather, son, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 19, 2013 at home. Bill was born on Nov. 23, 1934, in Culbertson, Mont. to Theodore (Ted) and Leota Wix. Bill grew up in the Culbertson area loving the outdoors, working on the family farm and ranch, and playing sports while in high school. Bill graduated from Montana State University.

Bill married Wilma Harrell on March 13, 1958. The two of them shared a rewarding and adventurous 41 years of life together before Wilma passed away in 2000. Bill is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Larry and Jeannette Wix; Joe and Bridget Wix. He also has four grandchildren: Ali (Andrew) Lopez, Brady Wix, Anne Wix, and Rachel Wix.
Bill faithfully served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. While living in Bozeman, Bill was active with various organizations including the Elks Club and the American Legion. His passion was hunting and fishing in the great outdoors around Bozeman.
Bill will be sorely missed, but his family and friends can find peace in the knowledge that he is celebrating with those who passed before him into the Kingdom of God.
A celebration of Bill's life with family and friends will be held at Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service in Bozeman on Thursday, Aug. 1, at 2 p.m., including a military honor guard presentation. A special thanks to the Rocky Mountain Hospice and the Bozeman Lodge staff for their compassion and care during his journey to end of life.
