Alberta Clare Chang passed away suddenly on June 2, 2010, from natural causes. Alberta was born on March 18, 1948, in Woodbury, N.J., to Josephine Fraction and Charles Chang.

Alberta was a much loved preschool and elementary teacher for more than 26 years. She taught in public and private schools in Minnesota and Montana, most recently at Middle Creek Montessori in Bozeman.

She completed her master's degree in Montessori elementary education in 2009 at the College of Saint Catherine.

Alberta was a dynamic individual, full of love and energy, who always made you laugh. She had a passion for knowledge, especially for various world religions. She was a long-time member of Church Universal and Triumphant and taught Sunday school on the seven major world religions. Alberta believed that understanding cultural differences was a major key to overcoming world hatred. She touched the lives of many people very deeply.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 19, at 2308 Durston Road, Bozeman. The service is open to the public; please call 580-5322 for more information.
