Our beloved Alice "Louise" Williams left us with the sunrise on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015, surrounded by family and friends.

Louise was the first born child to Jack and Minnie (Williams) Freeland on Dec. 16, 1918, in Bozeman. She attended Dry Creek, Pass Creek, and Belgrade schools graduating from Gallatin County High School in 1938. Following high school, she worked at the Durnam Lettuce Ranch in Gallatin Canyon, waitressed at the Snappy Service before getting her dream job as a clerk at Bozeman's finest and only department store, Chambers-Fischer, never missing a day of work in 7 and 1/2 years.

Louise met the love of her life, James "Denny" Williams, in 1940 at the Karst Camp in Gallatin Canyon. During the time that Denny was serving in World War II, Louise faithfully kept in touch with him and they later married on June 22, 1947. They had two daughters and 68 wonderful years together. Her greatest joy was her family. She enjoyed a lifetime of family celebrations, spoiling us with her homemade pies and rolls.

Louise was a fiercely independent woman who lived her life with simple dignity and grace. She was our precious angel.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Milt and Leo. She is survived by her husband, Denny; daughters, Jeanne (Tom) Vogel of Billings and Myrna Williams of Bozeman; and one sister, Doris (Joe) Quinn of Spokane, Washington. She is also survived by grandson, John Vogel; step-grandchildren, Mikaela DiBerardinis, Joe, Sean and Kathleen Winters; and step-great-grandchildren, Gianna and Miela DiBerardinis. She also leaves behind other extended family including numerous nieces and nephews.

A special thank you goes to Louise's personal care giver, Marsha Thill, and to the staff of Bozeman Deaconess who were so kind and caring to Louise during her brief illness.

Memorials in Louise's name may be made to Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 11390, Bozeman, MT 59719 or , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 2 p.m. at Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel with interment to follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery.

Arrangements are in the care of Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service.
