Allen L. Webster, 66, of Belgrade, Mont., passed away Jan. 24, 2014, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

He was born March 18, 1947, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to James "Dunk" and Helen (Russell) Webster. Allen graduated from high school in Filer in 1965. He spent most of his working life ranching between Idaho and southwest Montana around Dillon and Lima. Allen also completed in many rodeos throughout several western states. He loved to fish and hunt and spent a lot of time outdoors.

He was an avid reader of western books, Lonesome Dove being his favorite. Allen also loved John Wayne saying many times that the Duke was the greatest actor ever.

Allen married Mary VanBeek in October 2006.

Allen is survived by his wife, Mary of Belgrade; daughter, Rhannon (Todd) Webster of Belgrade; daughter, Shannon Lee of Billings; son, Jamie Webster of Kuna, Idaho; and son, Scott Webster of Buhl, Idaho; as well as six grandchildren. He also leaves behind his mother, Helen; brothers, Bob (Sheri), David, Joe; sister, Cheryl (Keith) Strolberg; and his best friend, his dog, Scooter. Allen was preceded in death by his father, James "Dunk" Webster in 2006.

In closing, we would like to thank all the doctors and nurses who took care of Allen at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital, especially Dr. Joseph Sofianek. We also would like to thank the nurses and aides of Hospice of Bozeman Deaconess, the wonderful people at Bridger Healthcare Community, Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service, Pastor Brian Rockwell, and all of the members of Belgrade Alliance Church who prayed for Allen and who helped Mary at this most difficult time.

A memorial service will be announced.
