Anna Marie (Sutherlin) Frost, aka "Granny," 72, of Belgrade died from complications of a staph infection at Peace Hospice in Great Falls on March 20, 2009.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Croxford Funeral Home and Crematory. A ceremony to spread her ashes will take place at a later date.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 27, at Belgrade Alliance Church, 205 W. Cameron Ave., Belgrade.

Anna was born March 11, 1937, in Missoula to Glen and Mabel Sutherlin.

She married Wyatt Lee Frost on Dec. 24, 1961, in Stevensville. They lived in Renton, Wash., until 1970, when they returned to their beloved Montana. They moved to West Yellowstone and Harlowton before settling in Belgrade. She worked at Hedges kitchen at MSU and the Sunset motel in Bozeman.

Anna's greatest joy in life was the time she spent with her grandchildren.

Anna will be remembered for all the beautiful dresses she made for her daughters and granddaughters. She was very creative and was always coming up with new craft ideas. Anna loved to spend time going to garage sales and was proud to say she didn't pay full price for anything. She enjoyed raising and showing rabbits and was known to many people in the community as the "rabbit lady." She loved all animals and especially enjoyed riding horses. Anna and Lee were avid supporters of the Belgrade Panthers and attended as many high school basketball games and tournaments as they could.

Anna will be remembered by her husband, Wyatt Lee Frost of Belgrade; her brother, Albert (Mary) Sutherlin of Victor; daughter, Linda (Bryan) McCulloch of Dutton and their children, Samuel, Timothy, and Naomi; daughter, Bonnie (Randy) Halvorson of Belgrade and their children, Jessie Kay, Tiffany, Herbert and Tabitha; son, Ken (Laurie) Frost of Helena and their children, Laynee and Tommy; and daughter, Becky (Mike) Finnegan of Bemidji, Minn., and their children, Jackson and Riley. She also had five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Anna's name to Peace Hospice, c/o Benefis Healthcare Foundation, P.O. Box 7008, Great Falls, MT 59406-7008; or to Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 11390, Bozeman 59719.
