Avylene Susanna Kinyon, 94, of Akeley-Walker, Minn., passed away Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007, at the Woodrest Nursing Home in Walker, Minn.

Avylene S. Tucker was born on June 27, 1913, at Bridger, Mont., the daughter of William H. and Nellie Christina (Peterson) Tucker. She grew up in Bozeman.
She was united in marriage to Neal Dow Kinyon on Sept. 29, 1935, in Bozeman.
She was a homemaker until 1954 when she started work as a cook in various restaurants in the area.
In 1964, Avylene moved to Tacoma, Wash., where she owned and operated Suzie's Café.
In 1980, she returned to Bozeman and worked in the area until her retirement.
In 1999, she moved to Akeley, Minn., to be near her daughter, where she has lived since. She belonged to the senior center and volunteered at local nursing homes. She enjoyed yarn coiling, puzzles, reading and house plants.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Daniel; a daughter-in-law, Lynn; 16 sisters and brothers; and a grandson, William S. Brown.
Avylene is survived by her daughters, Barbara (William) Kinkade of Lovelock, Nev., Jeraldine (Arnold) Brown of Akeley, Minn., Lois (Kester) Buffington of Bonney Lake, Wash., Linda Shaw of Watts, Okla.; and her sons, Frank (Marlene) Kinyon of Bonney Lake, Wash., Jim Kinyon and Ervin Kinyon of Bozeman, Louis (Judy) Kinyon of Hermiston, Ore. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren and 60 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, at Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel. Interment will follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
