Betty Jean Reinhard's twelve year battle with Alzheimer's ended peacefully in her home on Thursday, July 21 while being lovingly attended by her daughter and two compassionate caregivers.
The Guest Book is expired.
Born Aug. 13, 1940, to Howard James and Nora Emma Madden of Potter, Nebraska, Betty's childhood was shared with seven sisters and four brothers. She married her highschool sweetheart Gerhmann (Gary) Joe Reinhard Nov. 8, 1959. Betty quit her job as a secretary to devote herself to raising their three children. They moved from Rock Springs, Wyoming, to Bozeman, Montana in 1973.
The daughter of a wheat farmer, Betty milled her own flour to bake bread, cinnamon rolls, pies and cookies for her family. Encouraged by church members to enter her baking at Bozeman's Winter Fair, Betty won several ribbons.
Betty lost her husband Gary six years ago to pancreatic cancer. They had been married more than fifty years. She is survived by her son, Robin Joe Reinhard, his wife Michel and their children Rochelle, 18, and Corbin, 16; her daughter, Amber Jean Ansotegui and her husband Raymond; her son, Howard James Reinhard, his wife Tiffany and their daughters Chloe, 20 and Kiera, 18, and Zach Persian; also several siblings and a large extended family.
A funeral for Betty will take place in Callaway, Nebraska, where her ashes will be placed with her husband and their dog Taz. Donations can be made in her name to Alzheimer's Foundation at www.alzfdn.org
