Our beloved Betty Russell of Bozeman passed peacefully into heaven on Aug. 26, 2014, where she was received by the Lord and reunited with her loving husband.

Betty Russell was born March 13, 1928, in Blytheville, Ark. As a young girl she was active in sports and social activities, and as a teen she worked at the local drug store. It was here, through the front window, that she was spotted by James Russell, who would prove to be the one and only love of her life. When James saw Betty he said to his brother, "That is the prettiest girl I have ever seen. I am going to marry that girl." They were happily married for 63 years.

Betty and James started their family in St. Louis before moving to a small Missouri town in the country where they bought a large farm. They renovated the home, farmed the land, raised cattle, and lovingly brought up their five children.

Betty was a dedicated and devout Christian. She was very active in the various Baptist churches she and her family attended over the years, and was proud to be a child of the Lord.

Betty is survived by her children, David Russell with wife, Karen, Terry Russell, Marilyn Russell, Cheryl Ebel with husband, Brad, and Susan Russell; grandchildren, Amanda, Adam, Sarah, Levi, Lexi and Jason; and great-grandchildren, Kit, Michael, Levi and Leia. She is also survived by her brother, Daryl, and her sisters, Peggy and Sue.

Betty is preceded in death by her father, Jerry Lloyd; mother, Reva Epperson; brother, J.A., and sisters, Reva Dell and Maime.

Interment will take place at Meadow View Cemetery in Manhattan, Mont. on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014 at 5 p.m. A celebration of life and a reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gallatin Valley Baptist Fellowship, P.O. Box 793, Manhattan, MT 59741.
