Bud Chapman, 77, passed away Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012 at his home in Bozeman following a long illness. He was born on Jan. 26, 1935 in Bozeman to Oliver and Alma (Jenni) Chapman. Bud attended schools in Bozeman, graduating from Gallatin County High in 1954.

Bud married Letha Martin Chapman on Oct. 30, 1954.

Bud held various jobs until going to work for the State Highway Department, where he worked for 31 years. Following his time with the highway department he worked for Universal Athletics.

He was involved in youth sports and activities; scouting, Hawk Boosters, Bobcat Boosters and coaching baseball. Bud's passions were hunting, auctions, any and all sports and his family.

Bud will be dearly missed by his wife of nearly 58 years, Letha Chapman; daughter, Melody (Doug) Kurk; sons, Bret (Kari) Chapman and Tay (Kelli) Chapman; brother, Orville Chapman; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bob; and infant daughter, Kim.

Thanks to the staff at the Bozeman Clinic, Shaneyfelt Gastroenterology, and Rocky Mountain Hospice. Special thanks to Drs. David McLaghlin and Steven Shaneyfelt and dad's nurses, Linda, Kalea, and Matt.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1, at the LDS Church in Bozeman. Visitation hours will be from 12-3 p.m. on Friday at Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service.
