Cheryl Jeanne (Ryan) Ross, 61, passed away Monday morning, July 5, 2010, surrounded by her husband and children at her Bozeman home. She was born in Spokane, Wash., to William and Marilyn Ryan.

Cheryl held degrees in elementary education and music from Washington State University and taught school in Klamath Falls, Ore., before marrying Rocky Ross in 1973. The couple lived in Germany, Washington state, and Idaho before moving their young family to Bozeman in 1983 when Rocky was offered a professorship at Montana State University.
An avid artist and quilter, Cheryl owned her own small business and was active in the crafting community. She enjoyed making her home a beautiful and welcoming place for her friends and loved ones, of whom there are many.
She is survived by her husband, Rocky Ross; daughters, Heidi and Jennifer Ross; son, Jason and daughter-in-law, Nicole Ross, and granddaughter Ruby Ross. She is also survived by her sister, Judy Carrier; brother, Terry Ryan; mother, Marilyn Ryan; and a large and much-loved extended family.
A memorial for Cheryl will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 11, at Beall Park in Bozeman. All are welcome. An online memorial has been posted at www.rockyandcheryl.us/cheryl.
