Cora L. Jensen, 94 of Belgrade passed away of natural causes, March 26, 2012. She had been living at Open Arms Elder Care for the past two years. Cora was born Sept. 15, 1917 in Great Falls to Robert and Nellie (Fish) Cline.

She was the seventh of ten children.

The family ranched at Highwood and Ryegate before moving to the Belgrade area where Cora attended and graduated from the Belgrade Schools. She then attended college in Dillon and became a teacher and taught for several years.

The war broke out and Cora went to Seattle to work at the Boeings Air Craft Factory. John Jensen (her future husband) had enlisted in the Coast Guard and she followed him to the west coast where they were married in Seattle in February 1943.

They were blessed with many memories and friends while stationed in Garibaldi, Ore. along with two daughters, Jonne Lea and Sherrilynn.

The Jensen's returned to Montana in September after the war and a son, Donald was born. Cora remained a stay-at-home mom until she and John purchased the Belgrade Soda Fountain in the early 50s. She worked there until it sold in 1967. During that time she was very involved in school activities, PTA, sports and organizations her children were involved in.

For several years after selling the Fountain, Cora became the manager of the Diana Shop, a ladies clothing store in Bozeman, and then worked in the Bozeman Credit Union before retiring.

Her time after retiring was spent with gardening, quilting, and her church.

Cora was preceded in death by her father, Robert E. Cline and mother, Nellie (Fish) Cline; her husband, John in 1998; her son, Donald in 2003; and grandson, Darryle Shearman in 2007; four brothers, Gus, Walter, Wyman Lincoln (Tip) and Charles Eugene (Pat); and three sisters, Julia Kent, Nellie (Sal) Jenkins and Mary Kilhorn.

Survivors include Jonne Lea (Leon) Shearman and their children Dwayne (Lori) and Shawn of Bozeman; Sherrilynn (George) Haegele and children Rick (Devra) of Kalispell and Robert (Tina) of Bothell, Wash.; Donald's wife, Jana Jensen of Fort Benton, and their children, David Jensen of Bozeman, Farah Jensen of Washington, and Dawn Marie DeGrave of New York.

Cora had 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Also surviving are her sister, Maxine (Dearie) Hemund of Whitehall; and brother, Bob (Betty) Cline of Bozeman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation at Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 29 with services at 2 p.m. Friday, March 30 also at Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel. Interment at Sunset Memorial Park will be followed by a reception at the LDS Chapel in Belgrade at 297 Bridger View Drive.
