Jan. 1, 1956 – July 22, 2012

On the late evening of Sunday, July 22, 2012, an angel came to take Cynthia Diane Davis Christensen home to her much deserved reward. She passed away at her home with her friends, Bo and Copper, at her side.

Cindy arrived at the Basin Hospital in Basin, Wyo. on Jan. 1, 1956. She was the first child of excited parents, G. W. "BILL" and Shirley (Unterzuber) Davis. She received the "First Child of '56" award for the State of Wyoming.

Cindy received her schooling in the Basin Public School System, graduating in 1974. She was employed with the Basin Public School System as lifeguard, Wheeler's Market, Big B, Children's Cottage (Thermopolis) Lander Training School, while living in the Big Horn Basin. She will be remembered by her classmates as always having a cheery smile, how fast she was, always a friend, and defending against bullies.

Cindy met and married the love of her life, Ronald Christensen on May 28, 1977. They moved to Plentywood, Mont. Their son, Micheal Jergan was born Feb. 4, 1983. They also had two other children, Scott and Shari. Cindy made many friends while in Plentywood and worked mostly at the Sheridan County Courthouse. Eventually, the Christensen's moved to the Bozeman/Belgrade area. Cindy tried her hand at many jobs until poor health forced her to no longer be employed.

Despite personal challenges, Cindy was always concerned for others thinking that many were worse off than she was. She believed there were no strangers, only friends, she hadn't met. She was also known to family and friends for never missing a special occasion or a holiday with a card or phone call. Cindy wasn't afraid to die and knew where she was going.

Cindy was preceded in death by her father, G. W. "BILL" Davis on Feb. 24, 2011; son, Scott on April 8, 1992; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Chester and Annie Christensen; and her grandparents.

Cindy is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, "her" Ronnie, and son, Micheal, both of Belgrade, Mont.; a daughter-in-law, Kelly of Glendive, Mont.; a daughter and son-in-law, Shari and Steve Droll of Minnesota; her mother, Shirley Davis of Basin, Wyo.; her sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Ron Robbins of Douglas, Wyo.; her brothers, Terry Davis (Suzy), Jerry (Pauline), and Tom (Sherry), all of Boise, Idaho; grandchildren, Scotti, Cody, Kayla, Clay, and Kassity; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friends, Bo and Copper of the family home. We will miss our Cindy but we know that she is in no more pain and is in a far better place. Run, Cindy, run!

Memorial services were held Saturday, July 28, 2012 at the Atwood Family Chapel in Greybull, Wyo.

Atwood Family Funeral Directors, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
