Daniel Wesley Burbank, 36, of Bozeman passed way Nov. 1, 2013, surrounded by his family at St. Peter's Hospital in Helena.
Dan was born to John and Diane Burbank on Mother's Day, May 8, 1977 in Great Falls. In 1984, the family moved to Helena where Dan graduated from Helena High School in 1995. After attending MSU Bozeman, he began working at the Independent Record. He moved back to Bozeman in 2001 to work for the Bozeman Chronicle.
An avid sports enthusiast, Dan was always talking sports and rooting for his 49ers, Lakers, Tar Heels, and Bobcats. There was never any question as to what teams he supported as he was always wearing a t-shirt or sweatshirt with his teams' logo.
As the oldest of four, he had a great influence on his three younger sisters. Many hours were spent with him listening to music, watching sports, and laughing at his quick wit. Dan said his greatest memories were when he was just hanging out with his sisters. He loved music and created the soundtrack to every road trip. A proud and loving uncle, Dan enjoyed spending time with and sharing stories about his nieces and nephew.
Dan was preceded in death by his brother Joshua. He is survived by his parents John and Diane Burbank, sisters Amanda (Aeron) Walton, nieces Elise and Cara; Jessica Burbank; Sarah (Justin) Steinmetz, nieces Dani and Eisley and nephew Holden; best friend Ed Renaud: grandmother Doris Halcro and numerous aunts and uncles.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
