Daniel L. McPhetres, age 69, wonderful husband and father of six children, died at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital on Jan. 18, 2008, following a very courageous battle with brain cancer.

He was born on May 29, 1938, in Santa Cruz, Calif., to Marjorie Hansen McPhetres and Jordan McPhetres.
He received an associate degree in police science and spent some time in the army and on the Santa Cruz police force. He worked as a diver for Underwater Services in Santa Clara and retired as an electrician from San Diego City Schools after 18 years.
On Dec. 2, 1972, he married Diane Danaher, the love of his life, in Saratoga, Calif. They celebrated their 35th anniversary last December. In 2001 they both moved to Ennis to spend their retirement. Some of his favorite pastimes were riding ATVs, collecting gemstones, guns and movies, as well as studying ancient Egypt.
Daniel leaves behind his loving wife, Diane McPhetres; and his six children, Daniel Giskin, Kim Sedlacek, Tracy Belaire, Julie Crownover, Jenifer McPhetres, Michael McPhetres; his sister, Deanna Stilwell; and sister-in-law, Donia Danaher-Smith. He also leaves behind five grandchildren; nieces; his two puppies Morgan and Chammie; and many friends.
Daniel's family will hold a celebration of his life this summer in Ennis; for information contact email@example.com.
