Daniel Ray Neff, 47, lost his courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008, in Dallas, Texas, where he has resided for the past five years with his significant other, Terry, and her two children, John and Malia Cline.

He was born in Bozeman on Feb. 18, 1961, to Andrew and Donna Neff. They later moved to Butte where Dan received his education, graduating from Butte High in 1979.
Dan held various jobs, but due to his "gift of gab" he excelled at being a salesman. Dan also carried a smile and a telephone wherever he went.
He is survived by his father, Andrew (Sue) Neff; brother, Kevin and his wife, Shelly and their son, Chaz-Rick; brother, Robert Neff and Steve Workman; sister, Cheryl and her son, Nathan Neff; sister, Christina and children, Andrew, Amanda and Randy Stiff; sister, CathiJo and Steve Chadwell and children, Jesse, Justin, Samuel and Bradley; uncles and aunts, John and Diana Mortensen, Ronald Mortensen and Sharon Townsend; numerous cousins and friends including Tim Casey and Mark Dockter.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Donna M; grandparents, Ray and Edna Mortensen, and Albert and Agnes Neff; uncles, Ernest Neff and Larry Townsend; nephew, Scott Chadwell.
Memorial services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Butte Assembly of God Church, with a luncheon to follow in the church basement. Interment of his ashes will follow at 4 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park in Bozeman.
Memorials may be made to the Butte Humane Society, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
