On Tuesday evening Barney was called home to meet his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. David was born Sept. 20, 1943, in Montana, the son of Nichol and Aleda Barney. He grew up in Montana and served in the U.S. Army from 1961 – 1964. He was united in marriage to Connie Buskohl on Jan. 13, 1979, in Bozeman, Mont. After their marriage they moved to Sioux Falls and he worked as a radiator repair man. During his life he also worked for Rochester Armored Car and later ran his own handyman business. He enjoyed bowling, camping, fishing and was a member of Christ Community Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Aleda and brother, Elmer.
He is survived by his wife, Connie, Sioux Falls; his children, Rhonda (Stewart) Lyle, Benicia, Calif., Tanya Gonzales, Willow Creek, Mont., Michelle (Brandon) Martens, Sioux Falls, David "Butch"(Sarah) Barney Jr., Sioux Falls, Marsha Barney, Sioux Falls; his twin brother, Don (Delores) Barney, Belgrade, Mont., his brother Keith (Sandy) Barney, Bozeman, Mont., and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Christ Community Church in Sioux Falls, with interment in Hills of Rest Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 7 p.m. (family will be present starting at 6 p.m.) with celebration of life service at 7 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home. www.heritagesfsd.com.
