David Fletcher, 82, passed away Feb. 19, 2008, at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital. He was born May 17, 1925, in Whittier, Calif., to Homer and Elizabeth (Hawn) Fletcher.

As soon as he graduated from Whittier High School, he joined the Army Air Corps to train as a pilot. He did see some duty overseas at the close of World War II.
After his military discharge, he worked for a while in Alaska. He moved to Denver to attend the University of Denver, graduating with a civil engineering degree in 1952. He then moved to San Diego, Calif., to work for Convair Aeronautics, a company which later became a part of General Dynamics.
Throughout his life he enjoyed golf, skiing and photography, although his major interests were in aviation and automobiles.
He is survived by his sister, Martha Weaver of Bozeman. Also surviving are a niece, Ann Weaver and her son and daughter; nephew, Richard (Rachel) Weaver and their three sons; and two cousins in California.
