David William Tubbesing, 78, of Bozeman passed away on Sept. 10, 2010. He was born on May 22, 1932 in St. Paul, Minn. where he was raised by his parents Norman and Ruth (Nelson) Tubbesing.

Carole and Dave were married on Sept. 10, 1960 and moved to Bozeman in 1972. Together with Marv and Joyce Leister, they co-owned and operated Bozeman OK Hardware and Western Auto. They sold the store in 1980, and Dave went to work for Jensen Byrd, a Wholesale Hardware Distributer out of Spokane, Wash. Dave retired in March of 1994.

Dave was an active member of the Optimist Club. Dave and Carole also started and ran the Hyalite Reunion for family and friends for the past 27 years.

Dave had four passions in life (not necessarily in any order): fishing, hunting, family and friends. Nothing put a bigger smile on Dave's face more than catching a walleye with a family member or friend.

Dave was preceded in death by his elder brother Norman Frederick Jr.

Survivors include: his wife Carole of Bozeman; his sons John (Dana) and Dan (Mera) both of Seattle, Wash.; his grandchildren Caitlin, Ryon, Evan and Erica all of Seattle, Wash.; his sisters Carol Swanson of St. Paul, Minn. and Joan (Ken) Rood of Apple Valley, Minn.; his brother Dick Tubbesing of St. Paul, Minn.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
A visitation will be held on Sept. 15, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church preceding the service celebrating Dave's life at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dave's name to Bozeman Deaconess ICU c/o Bozeman Deaconess Foundation, 931 Highland Blvd., Suite 3200, Bozeman, MT 59715
