Dorothy K. Derham, 96, of Belgrade, passed away on Friday, Aug. 7, 2009. She was born on Jan. 27, 1913, in New York City, to Walter and Dorothy (O'Toole) Kingwell. She grew up there, and graduated from Wadleigh High School in New York City.

In 1946, she married John Derham. They had three boys: James, Dennis and Thomas. Dorothy worked for Consolidated Edison in New York City before retiring to New Fairfield, Conn. She moved to Bozeman in 1995. During her retirement years, she enjoyed volunteering at the New Fairfield and Bozeman libraries. She loved playing the piano and enjoyed listening to all types of music.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, and her son Thomas. She is survived by her sons, James of Arlington, Va., and Dennis of Bozeman.
She will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Long Island National Cemetery in Long Island, N.Y.
